It's 2:30 in the morning and I have to get this off my chest.
What could have occurred in Shelby Steele's upbringing to make him such a self hating tool for the right wing?
Steele, the black conservative (oh boy!) author of "A Bound Man: Why We Are Excited About Obama and Why He Can't Win" as well as several negative Obama articles, seems obsessed and irrational in his incessant attacks on Obama.
I'm leaving, nobody loves me, not Obama, not Pelosi, not Michelle, not Sasha or Malia not the DNC, not the repubs, not even the Geico gecko. My computer hates me and my keyboard attacks me. The internets are webby and convoluted and whenever I try to research, I end up here—dazed, bruised and confused. Who cares about the U.S.A. Who cares about the rest of the world. Who cares that I can make a difference. Oh me , me, me, me, me. It's all about me! Look at me! I'm so pretty!
Anyhoo, I'm leaving. Goodbye. I don't know why you say "hello," I say "goodbye."
At a town hall meeting in Columbus, Barack Obama continued his Change that Works for You tour on June 13, 2008, discussing social security.
Vintage Obama.
It was touching towards the end when he got personal and spoke of his 85 year old grandmother.
Obama referred to secure retirement as a promise that was kept for Michelle's parents and for his grandmother. Of the latter, he said, "I keep on trying to convince her to come live with us, and for some reason she would rather live in Hawaii."
He joked, "I don't know what she's thinking." As the audience laughs, he he points to a guy and says, "You know what she's thinking. Well, you've got that Hawaiian shirt on."
But folks, even with all of the above, we've got to stay motivated with a glint in our eyes and a brave spirit. We've got to carry each other across the finish line. It is our responsibility and there ain't no stopp'n us now!
On this historic day, I'm full of emotions, hope, pride and joy. I am elated to see that the USA still has promise and although all is not perfect, at the very core, the foundation of this country is solid.
That is why a skinny milk chocolatey kid with large ears, born of an African father and a white American mother, today, stands at the threshold of leadership of these United States.
As proud as I am of Obama, I'm even more amazed by the American people. People like you - regardless of race, sex and creed who saw his potential way before I allowed myself to be peeled away from the Clinton dream.
I have hope, my friends... not just about the United States, but for the rest of the world. Imagine what message this sends across the globe!
The journey is far from over - even if he is elected president, Barack Obama has his work cut out for him.
Being the closet eclectic DJ that I am, music is an ever present vehicle for healing in my landscape and therefore, I'd be delighted if you would share music or poetry that best describes your thoughts and feelings on this day?
In his syndicated column "Between the Lines"World News Daily founder and editor Joseph Farah challenges Barack Obama's Christian faith. In an article titled, "Barack Obama: One mixed-up spirit" the confused comprehension challenged cretin chooses to interpret Christianity in the usual myopic, literal fashion of the rabid freaks on the religious right.
"One mixed-up spirit" is obviously an underhanded reference to Obama's mixed ethnicity and reveals Farah for the bigot he is.

Uh huh! More below the fold.
Tonight, in his smackdown response to McCain, Barack Obama stated, "You're entitled to your own opinions but you're not entitled to your own facts." He could very well have been referring to Joseph Farah.
This is my first diary. It is neither as well written nor as succinct as it could be, but allow me to vent.
These are my thoughts on the issue of race in the campaign and the notion that blacks support Obama because he is black or because of black pride.
I am a woman. I am black. I am proud of Obama because he seems genuinely engaged in important issues. I'm proud of his community organizing, his level head and his message of change and hope. I'm proud that he chose not to deny his black Kenyan heritage even though his father abandoned him. I'm proud of the way his campaign is being run.
I'm proud that a half white, half black man, a Christian with a Moslem father and family ties from east to west has emerged as a unifier and a positive symbol already influencing change internationally even without direct negotiation. I'm proud that he has precipitated a much needed, long ignored discussion on race.
